I am a convicted felon that just did 10 years in prison. Also a registered sex offender. I was falsely accused of a crime and in Georgia its hard to prove your innocence with a sex crime. I have several years experience prior to incarceration in 2014 pulling van, reefer, step deck and flatbed. I do have tanker but no hazmat. I can travel across state lines up to 28 days at a time. Hello my name is Adrian H and I am having trouble getting hired. I paid for my cdl school up front everything looked good until the covid 19 hit I have three weeks completed just waiting on state test. I have my medical my clearing house and my clp. I thought us Express was going to hire me ,they put me in orientation but my felony put a hault to that. I caught a charge a little over three years ago first offense. Since then I have paid my dues and i am clean and sober being a member of a good support group. I have put multiple application in and no one seems to get back with me. I've worked in and around poultry farms all my life. I have experience also have dump truck experience. I too has failed a pre-employment drug screening the use of marijuana for the first time in 14 years of holding a DOT. I'm just curious to why the penalty is so stiff for that particular substance that helps with anxiety? Take in consideration that the industry is short of drivers due to the penalty. I was told the after you go through the SAP program that will stay on your record for 3 years. Which makes it complicated of finding employment. I've also learned that it's up to the companies discretion if they want to consider you for a fit however, it's also based on the companies insurance if you are considered a risk. I'm curious to how many accidents has occurred due to the fact of someone having marijuana in there system? Granted it's considered a drug BUT the Government are making a profit of it which is a double. standard.

I have been having trouble finding a job company to give me a second chance as a OTR driver. I have been driving for 17 months, solo. I have driven over 60,000 miles through 16 states. I have never had an accident or incident until two months ago. I failed a company UA. I tested positive for marijunna.I let my guard down, I am not a regular user. I ate a food item with marijunna inside. I let my guard down at a party prior to taking the test. I have taken the SAP assessment and evaluation and completed it. Need help getting my CDL.

I'm an ex-Felon who it's trying to turn my life around, I've made a lot of mistakes in my past I have 2 DUIs that are more than 5 years old, I have a felony that I'm just about to get off on supervised probation for, I really want to get into the truck driving industry and do over the road work so we can see more of the country, I've never wanted anything more in my life and I'm willing to do anything to get it, can someone please give me any kind of advice or help me out in any way?

I applied to PAM transport a couple of months ago and they told me that my job was a sure thing and I found out tonight did they turn me down, I need CDL training but I'm willing to do anything to reach my goals, if anyone can help me out in any way please help me.
