As an Owner Operator You Have to Do Price Comparison on Parts and Service
You will often find that you can get parts cheaper from 3rd parties than at Freightliner.
This is one of the largest differences percentage wise I've seen.
Key at Freightliner $30Key at Ace Hardware $3
That's 10x! They printing money on that one. It's ridiculous. Nothing special about this key.
Especially in today's climate, saving money where you can make a big difference in profit margins.
Now, obviously, I just threw away $27.
In this case, I was only 80% sure I had gotten a key from Ace. I didn't want to drive all the way back to Freightliner if I was wrong, or they had stopped.
So I went ahead and got me a key. And I still went to Ace Hardware so I could check for y'all and report.
Also, another extra key is not a waste.

How to Spot Fake Loads Posted on the Load Board
In this video linked I show you a load I found on the load board yesterday. You should research any load that seems suspicious before you waste booking one of these loads.
Especially don't send any financial information to haul one of these loads.
Don't let the big dollars entice you. No legit broker is asking for banking information. They are not going to pay you with some strange banking system or procedure.
Some things to look at.....
1. Do the phone numbers match2. Are the emails spelled correctly3. Is there broken language4. Do they answer questions about the load or ignore your questions.5. Is their terminology consistent with industry lingo? Or do they seem like imposters
