Advice for a student trucker

Hello, I'm Sammie and I am hoping I can find a bit of advice here. I am having some problem downshifting and also straight line backing.

I feel that I'm correcting myself too late also for some reason not linking up completely straight either. I know without mastering back how can I alley dock and parallel park! Lol any help to these issues would be greatly appreciated!
