Amazon Freight adventures is about the opportunities and experiences related to hauling Amazon loads. It's unbelievable how large they have become and the types of trucking opportunities are available partnering with Amazon as a company driver, independent contractor or owner operator.
So this entire page will be dedicated to discussing some of those opportunities and sharing your trucking or delivery experiences hauling their freight and packages.
My relationship is hauling Amazon thru their Amazon Relay program.
Remember, each opportunity has its own perks and requirements.
You'll notice upon research that you can go direct with Amazon as a freight partner or with trucking companies hauling amazon freight. (They are the freight partners) Obviously, you're going to end up with more going direct with Amazon. I have not done this personally, so i can't detail the process. But your first step to request information from Amazon and they will send you a form to fill out.
Then they will go over your answers and give you feedback or more information.
As mentioned above there are many different ways to drive for amazon. If you drive for a DSP you might get between $20 and $30 dollars per hour as their company driver.
As an owner operator, often they will promise you between $3,000 and $8,000 per week. Will you ever actually make that top figure. That's the promises made in indeed. I'm hoping someone will confirm or deny here.
Pulling Amazon Relay which is accessing their load board for power only loads, the pay is often comparable to average spot rate for loads with your own trailer. Some times more and some times less. So from $2 to $15 dollars a mile all depending on the trip. When the rate seems high, be sure to check the comments. Usually that load will have multiple stops at different warehouses. Some times, it's worth it though.
Personally I wouldn't try and operate with the plans of just using Amazon relay for power only loads. You need to have other freight options as well.
Over the road Company drivers at Amazon are not company drives at Amazon, lol. So don't be fooled. They drive for DSPs who contract to Amazon. Some jobs are good and some are not so good. Some pay is great and some is not. All depends on location.
Amazon Flex just like the rest all depends on location and routes. You will need to look on job boards like indeed and see what the average pay is for the city you're located in.
