Best CB Radio to buy

I am thinking about investing in a good branded CB radio. But I don't want to waste my money, if there's not many truckers using CB radio nowadays.

So first question is if I were to go across country say Missouri to Virginia would I hear a lot of chatter over a CB?

Second is what is a good handheld cb brand.
