best route CA to OH??

Hey Truckers!

I am moving from Southern CA (fontana) to Cleveland, OH. Map quest routes me through the rockies... pretty sure I don't want to do that in a 26' truck. What are your thoughts (cities, geography, highways to avoid) for best routing when driving a big truck, pulling a vehicle dolly on this route? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

One truckers opinion!

Hi Clare,

First thanks for visiting.

If it were me. Well, actually I could say, the way that I went from Ontario (which is up the street from you) to Cleveland was taking

I 40 to Oklahoma City OK. Then
I 44 East to St Louis, mo. Then
I 70 East to just outside Columbus Ohio. Then
I 270 North (Loop around Columbus) to
I 71 North right into Cleveland, Ohio.

Thats the way I went. By the way the Flying J truck stops is probably where your going to find your cheapest fuel along the way. And make sure you go no more than 5 over the speed limit in Ohio.
