Can a company ask for your drivers license when picking up a load? Is there something that federally protects from having to show your license or does the company policy have rule over it since its the companies product you are hauling?

There are many places that demand a copy of your ID because a commercial vehicle comes under Federal Regulations and all load have to comply with the Feds. Has-mat, oversized loads, high technology like $ million loads.

I would not allow them to copy it, however. That has been the start of much identity theft.

Yes, a shipper can and often does ask to see your driver's license.
