can i bring my 3 year old son on the road with me?

I am thinking about trucking but I have a 3 year old son that is important to me so I do not want to go an extended amount of time without him. is it legal to bring him with on occasions?

I just graduated trucking school and we had bout 10 recruiters from 10 different company's and all they kid policy's was 10 years and above
