Using a Rental Box Truck To Get CDL

Jay as far as using that type of truck, you would be able to get a Class B not a Class A. As far as renting it from any regular rental place they usually want you to already have the proper license to be able to rent it. Insurance and liability.

There are some companies that lease trucks but not a lot. You might want to post flyers up at local diesel mechanics shops if you don't see listing for rentals specifically for test to get your CDLs.

Some community colleges will work out something with you too.

By the way anyone reading this in a major city with extra units and tired of the road, you might want to consider starting a business of providing this type of rentals to potential drivers. Or at least look into how feasible it is.
