Can I get a hazmat endorsement with a misdemeanor warrant?

I have a Class A CDL with a tanker endorsement. I have looked everywhere and can not get a definite answer.

I am wanting to add Hazmat but I have a misdemeanor warrant. Would I need to take care of that before I can obtain one? Any info would be great!
