DOT's "line in the sand" is if you take a pill, you're fine, if you take a shot, you're not. You should call your local DOT office to confirm this.

My son is type 1 juvenile diabetes insulin dependent, takes shots. High risk.. some say they are diabetics and drive but maybe they developed it late in life and are on pills....maybe you can ask your own doctor his opinion and if he would allow you too... wish you all the luck
