Can you check where a lorry has travelled in Germany via the toll

I want to know where a lorry has traveled in Germany. I know it paid the toll to a specific destination but can I find out if it altered its' route?

The driver has told me that when you pay the toll that you are given a specific route to take and a specific amount of time in which to complete this route - if you either come off route or do not complete journey in allotted time, then you are stopped and fined.

How true is this?
