I have been married to my husband for 30 years. He recently lost his job because they were restructuring management. Anyway, he had driven small trucks when we were 1st married. So when the money ran out and he still did not have a job, he decided to get his CDL and do OTR.

He just left on Sunday for the 1st time.

I cried after he left and miss him like crazy but I am going to support him!!!

It is very tough and I sure hope it does get easier. We do everything we can to stand up for our men and be by their sides but this otr can be so overwhelming. The lonliness is very difficult I agree!

welcome to the life.. it is tough at first but you will get used to it with some time. In the meantime find one of his t-shirts to sleep in and keep lots of chocolate on hand. Come join us on cafemoms and join the group 'wives of truck drivers' it's a great way to meet other trucker wives. I hope to see you there! :) Chin up baby!
