Class A DSL and Adderall

I don't have my class A cdl but thinking about going to truck driving school. Been taking Adderal on and offl for almost 20 years for ADD. Do I need to go off of it to get my license?

Even if I do and I test clean will my history be a problem? Can I get a medical clearance from my doctor?
