Combat veteran with a recent felony

I am a veteran of the U.S Army. I was recently convicted of a felony (making a false statement on a gun application). Apparently in Virginia if you have a juvenile record of any kind, it's not automatically expunged.
So the court used my juvenile record against me and said that I lied on the application to buy a weapon. Even though I am a combat veteran of the army, the court doesn't seems to think that they should wipe it under the table.
So I was convicted of the felony. I received no jail time or probation for the charge; Only a $250 fine. I am currently in truck driving school through Southside Virginia Truck Driving School to obtain my class a-CDL with additional endorsements.
I have a little doubt within myself about a company hiring me. Could someone please help me with some information. Thanks.
