Can a company ask for my keys while they are loading my trailer?

Yes they can do that. Alot of companies do it for safety reasons of to keep it from being moved while its being loaded.

Its meant to protect the workers who are loading or unloading from getting hurt by the truck/trailer move away from the dock as they are doing their job.

No one wants to fall out the dock door on forklift or ride-on pallet jack from truck/trailer moved.
