Did 18 wheelers have sleepers 20 years ago?

I was a driver, an pulled the 48ft flatbed.. He's never driven.. We are debating about whether flatbed drivers had sleepers 20 years ago or not... He said it was rare.. i disagree... Please tell me I'm right!!

flatbed sleepers

Thank U !!! I drove flatbed 48 states for prime for 2 years when i was 18... 8 years ago however my boyfriend is 40 an thinks he knows everything!!! Knew it!!!

Samantha, big trucks started having sleepers about 1921.

Yes they did have sleepers 20 years ago, including flat bedders. He may have seen a lot of local or regional day cabs flat bedder where he grew up and assumed that all didn't have sleepers.

Now he might be out and paying attention to how many flat bed OTR trucks he sees.

His mind (or memory) must be playing tricks on him.

Don't rub it in, take it light on him. LOL
