does anyone know the best truck driving school to attend for class a cdl training

(washington d.c. )

I am looking at several schools for cdl training the first school I was looking at was Roadmaster in Columbus, Ohio.

It was a 3 week course 6 days a week from 7am to 6pm and the cost is $6500 for everything with job placement the only problem is that i live in Washington D.C. and I have to get there.

The second school is All-state Trucking in Baltimore, MD which is about 45 minutes from me, the course is 6 months for four days a week 5 hours a day and the cost is $9500. I am torn between these two schools.

Roadmaster because it is only a 3 week course and i am unemployed i can be driving in a month with Allstate i have to travel 45 minutes for 4 days a week for 5 hours pay tolls and gas and also live for 6 months.

I believe both schools are PTDI certified, and state accredited is there any other criteria I should using to base a decision on?

hey terryl, about those schools. I'm not from that area but I'll tell you, any school should not last more than 4-6 wks. most are about 4 wks.

and you shouldn't pay more than 4500.00, maybe 5000.00 max. between those two you mentioned, i would say the one away from home is the best deal.

Try to pay as you go also, so your covered in case they go out of business. (it happens) they will want all the money up front, but tell 'em no. hope this helps......jimmy
