I need to get back out there asap. I do not want or need to go thru a truck driving school. I have been in the oil and gas industry for the past 10 years. I have driven tractor trailers all during this time except for the past 2 years. In the oilfield I drove coil tubing units that weighed in excess of 200K. Permits were needed as well as escorts. I had one ticket from 2005 while over the road driving a car hauler. I missed a weigh station in dense fog at the Idaho Washington border. My most recent ticket was for disregarding a traffic control device in LaSalle Co. Texas. This happened in 2013. Before driving a car hauler, I did 6 months with JB Hunt. Thats about all I could handle with them. I've also driven tanker trucks for water hauling companies in East Texas. I more than likely will have to go through a company to get my medical card and P restriction taken off my license. I believe I can get my medical card myself but I am not 100% sure. If I need to go through a trucking company to get some experience under my belt, I can. Personally I know I do not need to go through any kind of school. I know I am a strong driver that keeps my doors shut and my foot on the floor. If I thought I could just go to a school for a short time and show a company that I am capable of clearing 3000 miles in good conditions, I would do that. I would just like for someone to give me a shot. I need a job desperately due to the oil and gas industry slowing down so much.
Comments for Ex car hauler looking to get back on the iron horse. Car hauler or flat bed preferred.
