this is just another form of legal discrimination with the words safety thrown in front to make the case but yeah to comment on the question at hand why would you take the risk knowing unemployment could be right around the corner

Can't answer that. You just have to try it. My guess would be NO.

It will not be easy.

With new regulations and spotlight on highway safety combined with your suspension being only 3 years ago, I would think it might take some time to get hired.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't try if you are drug free.
