Failed past drug test for dot in 2009

If I have failed past drug tests for cdl and non cdl jobs will it show up if I go to one of these schools to get my cdl.

I have had my permit in the past but never got to take the driving test to get my cdl. Am I wasting my time going to one of these schools?
