Getting a truck with just a contract

I have heard that if you can get qualified for a contract that you can take it to a dealership and get a truck I was wondering if this is just a trucker tale or has a nugget of a truth.

Well, you'll need down pymt and good credit also. When you apply for credit, you need to be established, such as time at your residence, record of credit payments being made on time,etc.A contract will certainly help with the process. Jimmy

I think you're re-fering to getting financed at a dealer. Some financial institutions want you (the purchaser) to prove you have work once you purchase the truck, so they (the financial instution) will know you can make the payments, as opposed to you buy a truck and then cannot get it leased on and cannot make the payments.
