Getting signal while sitting

I was curious to understand how loads are received in areas with weak or no signal? For example, I was recently driving through Nebraska and my cell phone service (AT&T) was intermittent throughout the state.

Do the computer boards have the same issue? If the carrier you're working for cannot get in touch with you, how would you know when a load is assigned?

Regards.

Dispatching a load.

Trucks equipped with Qualcomm ( a satellite receiver) have no problem, unless the truck is under a canopy sometimes. Most truck companies use Qualcomm. Cell phones are a different situation, so you may have to call in via land line. Or, your dispatcher can leave a voice mail and you'll get it when you have service. Jimmy
