Please don't let trucking be all they've ever known. Just because they might be on the truck 24/7 for weeks/months at a time, doesn't mean they can't learn about other subjects related and not related that they could use in the industry or in the case they decide to leave the industry.
The reason this is so important is because trucking just like other industries are changing.
With technology and major players providing platforms which accomplish lower rates, dominating the marketplace and provide autonomous trucking (to whatever degree they can) along with regulations due to special interests and agenda based politicians, there is no way to predict with accuracy the state of truck 20 yrs from today.
I have met too many elder (and younger actually) truckers who say they are only driving because they don't know how to do anything else.
