how do you know ?

So my bf and I have been together for almost a year and are discussing taking the next step. I trust this man, I love this man, am proud of him and his job as a trucker.

Ive never dated a trucker before so this is all new to me and its a steep learning curve. Ive been raising 2 children on my own for 6 yrs so I know what its like to do everything on my own.

However, with him also comes 2 more children and the last thing I want is to hurt any of them... so the question is....how do you know if you are strong enough to be a truckers wife??

My family only points out the negatives and are against my being with a trucker. Telling me how hard and not worth it it is. I think he is very worth it but have never been in this situation before. Not to mention we are total opposites.

He's loud im quiet, he's rough and ready im a pacifist...the list goes on. We are totally made for each other. His strengths are my weaknesses and vice versa.

What if im not strong enough for him? What if I cant be the woman he deserves? How in the world do you know??? Sorry if I rambled...just don't want the kids or my man hurt.

big mistake agreed NEW

I am in the middle of the exact same situation. I jumped in with both feet. Big mistake! We are too different, now I wish I just stayed single but have to consider his children too. Just remain single and date each other. Please dont make the same mistake I did. Plenty of fish in the sea. Be patient. This hasn't done my son ANY good. His kids got a huge benefit, this wasn't reciprocal. He has witnessed verbal abuse towards me....not good.

BIG MISTAKE NEW
by: Anonymous

You should listen to your parents. They have lived longer than you, and have experienced and seen more than you have, and they want only the best for you. You sound like me six years ago. DON'T DO IT, TRUST ME, BIG MISTAKE!
