question? How long does it take to stop a 18 wheeler with gross weight 80,000 pounds at 65 mph on a good day and dry roads and if that does not make you think try this one same question only figure it at 40 tons?

Google it for exact numbers. But general rule of thumb on a good day as you said is minimum 7 seconds back.
