I will give you some advice, the pay sucks as a company employee, and if I were you once he gets out over the road, I would check online phone records, and me and the kids have lost him to another driver and the driver is not female.

I couldn't tell you if the road changed him or this other driver, but when it comes to home time, me and the kids dread it because we get more peace and quiet when he is not around, maybe that won't happen to you but when you get some time, I would check the stories under trucker's wives and you will see not every story has its good side.

There is a lot of heartache coming from these women, I am not trying to scare you but I am just giving you the facts and some of these stories are not very pretty, I wish you the best, and good luck!!

Advice to couples in trucking

Make sure he watches this and other pages about relationships. Watch it together and download that free checklist. It will help you get on the same page about the future of the relationship and how trucking plays a part.

Too many couples don't make a plan for the trucking adventure.

For instance, is it a short term thing or long term career move? So if you have planned all of that (to the best of your ability) You are ahead of the 8 ball.

If not, talk about this together so that both of you are on the same page.

Best of luck.
