I am busy when he gets home!!

I have been with my partner for 4 years. He has been a truckdriver for 20. The first year was the hardest adapting to the life, but as I am a very independant person I got used to it.

I run my own business which keeps me very busy. He has his job and I have mine. When he gets home and I am busy trying to meet deadlines, he gets resentful that I can't spend enough time with him.

I feel torn between a rock and a hard spot. I understand whats involved in his job, run the house & home, run his books, keep everything up to date and hey, I am not superwoman....Very frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!p

A year tomorrow NEW
by: Anonymous

Ha it has been a year tomorrow since I posted my busy plea!! Not much has changed. Only I know he resents my job when I have accepted his. The house, yard and paperwork is all up to date so what is his problem!!!!! I don't know what to do. No affection, he won't talk about things.

Thanks Laura,

I just had one of those weekends where he spent the whole weekend fixing his trailers. I sprayed the weeds, got the groceries, mowed the lawn, cleaned the house and left my pile of bookwork on the desk as those other things had to be done. We had a blue yesterday and all I wanted was some ""appreciation"". Not sure how much more I can take.

I know where you are coming from.... these seem to be high maintenance men...lol... I am a student an employee and the mom of 4 children between the ages of 10 - 15... Only my sense of humour keeps me going sometimes. My guy will assume that I am not doing anything when he calls and expects me to leave work and take care of his business... I just politely remind him that I am not always at his beckon call and sometimes things have to wait. Honestly, I think that when he is driving and thinks of things that he needs done, he totally forgets where I am at that time of day, not taking into account that I might be in my office, in a lecture for school or shuttling kids around. Then after his realization, he always apologizes - and then asks me to take care of it when I get the chance...which of course I have no problem with at all. We have mutual respect for what each of us needs to do during the day - the word "Demand" does not exist in our relationship.
