Long story short, i got my cdl April of 2014. i was charged of a felony theft charge in 2012 that hasnt been tried. Im asking this question on the terms of my case being placed on the "Dead Docket"........ anybody know if companies still consider a case on a dead docket as a open case?

Thanks In Advance

Reread please NEW

reread please. im not a felon. i was charged over 2 years ago for a felony theft that was never tried in court.....its on dead docket. meaning theres not enough to take me to trial but theyre waiting to see if anything pops up or i do something stupid again. my question was, on a case by case situation, what are my chances of gaining employment while a case is not actively being tried?

im going to file a speedy trial motion to pressure them to bring it up for dismissal but i wanted to know if i could get in with a dead docket and let the case disappear on its own or force it with speedy trial

It will be hard for u. Alot of companies will not take u from have a policy that felony theft is a disqualification and all companies have a policy that all felonies must be 7 years or older from the date u were found guilty or not guilty. If want to try and see, do a google search on trucking companies that of give second chances or of hire felons. Best of luck to u.
