Im a self employed driver can my contractor fine me for tickets.

I'm an independent contractor and recieve a 1099 from the company I contract to. That company is contracted to another company to run his truck under their authority. If I recieve a traffic ticket can the company I am contracted to fine me if they are fined by the company we run under?

But check your contract. Essentially they want you to pay their fine for your screw up.

If you get a fine, then they also fine the company you haul for.
