There may be some private individuals that are willing to insure you under the age of 21, If I were you, I would do some serious investigating into the laws that govern the occupation. Most companies will not hire someone under 21. Most are 23-25

Hey Ryan, just so you know, gotta be 18 to get CDL, then you can only drive 'intrastate'. To drive 'interstate' must be 21. "Intra" is within, "inter" is across state lines.

So go for it when the time comes and 2 pieces of advice; Keep your drivers license squeaky clean and don't get into any trouble with the law. Jimmy

Considering Trucking at a Young Age

Ryan, It's great to see that you have your eyes on a career path at an early age. Read more about the advantages and disadvantages. If the disadvantages don't scare you away then you are a great candidate and if you began with the right mindset could see the country, save a lot of money.

Riding with someone gives you a perspective closest to driving but you still don't get the responsibility of planning, paperwork, logging, and of course driving.

Keep reading by the time you are old enough you will know if it is what you want to do. Just don't stop school early to do it, finish school man even if you think that trucking is what you want to do for the rest of your life.

Trucking is going to always be hear waiting on you.
