And it's not that expensive if you have a GP.
My GP used to give me reduced rates when I was out of work for a short time. So did the pharmacy when I needed interim meds to get back on my feet. I had to hunt, but it's there if you need it.
The State wants you to work. Hell, my GP would let me come in once or twice and just bill me.
