My first year living the trucking lifestyle

by Rose
(Ny)

My fiancé left in January he is gone 8 weeks at a time. Everyone says it will get better but this last two times he has come home has been great and once he's gone we fight like crazy and over really stupid things.

To make matters even more intense, I'm 7 month pregnant. Just seems anything bothers him.. I understand it's hard or him but sometimes I wonder if he knows how hard it is for me.

This is rose. He works on the oil fields hauling so he is only allowed to come home very 8 weeks. When the running is good he be leaves it's the best thing but when it's not he goes back and forth inside his head I honestly be leave I would be able to handle it a lot better if he would come home more often or even if I could ride with him but there is a no rider policy

Trucker of 24 years. First thing he needs to relax and have patients on the road. Yes there are a lot of head ace for a over the road driver but nothing so bad that he has to take it out on you. One problem i see is 8 weeks on the road is way too long. Sure we make a good living but that much time away from family is not worth it. Can make the same money being out 2-3 weeks tops. The cost of living is expensive on the road and he is spending more by spending 2 months living on the road. You should demand that he come home more often. You can't have a good relationship that way. And yes you are right he should think about what he is putting you through.
