Patrick, today most people fail the pre-trip inspection. The DMV won't give you a road test until you pass the 150 part pre-trip inspection first.

I wish you the best of luck on that. 10 years ago I took a break from driving for 8 years and upon returning I needed to take the drive test again.

I searched and searched and it came down to paying a driving school 3000 bucks to show up on testing day, that’s when dmv comes out to test the graduating class.

I hope it’s cheaper for you if you find one. Good luck.
