Hello everybody and thanks to the site creator.
It hits at exactly what I am thinking about doing. I'd like to start my own trucking company and use part-time drivers to keep the loads moving.
I guess what I want is Experienced retired drivers that want to just work 1-2 days per week with me and be either on call or have scheduled drives as I want to develop on-going client specific hauls targeting international/domestic companies shipping into Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.
Advanced manufacturing in the US and engineering and science worldwide are coming together. I think the US economy and the working man are positioned to benefit.
(Finally) We need to thank the smart industrial leaders of our country, we could have been rolled over and they fought back and we now have some of the most advanced manufacturing sites in the world and our credibility has been restored with the consumer.
I want be a Truck owner-operator but I'm not a driver. I'll leave that to the professionals. I promise First class and well maintained equipment and above average pay.
It is my hope that my target employees will be interested in base pay and bonus over other benefits.
Trucks will be Atlanta based and I am planning to start with mid sized commercial equipment but would welcome drivers advice on equipment and trends or any other ideas for me? I'm probably 60 days from starting.
Still much research to do but I would like to hear from interested drivers to start building a potential employee list.
Best Regards,
Scott
