Oregon Experienced driver Brandon

My desire would be to do a two and two type schedule, where I drive for half of the month (less restart) and stay home half of the month (less restart), allowing me to have equal time at home with my family.

I used to work as a helicopter mechanic for a company that offered this set up (two weeks out, two at home minus travel to and from the aircraft) but when they started having financial troubles they laid off necessary employees and started having the remaining mechanics pull longer shifts with less time at home.

Being one of the few field mechanics that also had my CDL-A with HAZMAT, tankers, boom truck operators cert, as well as being a certified welder meant that I saw a bit more of the requests to be constantly out working than was considered acceptable to my family, and myself.

Since then I have been working locally, but my wanderlust is beginning to get the best of me again.

I love to travel, I love to work long hours, I just need to be home with my family for more than two days at time. There has to be other drivers out there who feel the same way.

Home time with family. NEW

I don't know of a company that offers work 2 weeks/off 2 weeks. Maybe some intermodal companies that just run the ports has good hometime.
Leavitt's Freight Service is flatbed and supposedly has good home time.
