If you are stopped at a weigh station and you are over weight or over axel can they keep you at the scale till you fix the problem.

Over weight on axle can be a problem

Yes, it's up to the officer at the weigh station how they want to proceed.

Usually they will let you slide to get legal on axle if possible.

Some times you will still get a ticket and some times not. In GA i got a ticket for a few hundred pounds over on drive axles.

If you can't get legal, they might force you to call someone out to reword the load right at weigh station.

I had to do this once at Alabama weigh station.

It's all up to the officer.
