Depends.

Right now my husband (independent driver) receives 1,300 a week to drive from ca. to ga. so that is 5,200 a month. but... he must pay his own taxes and that gets very tricky.

This is just an idea. He use to make 160,000 a year (owner operator) and that's even more tricky if you don't have a tax accountant or tax lawyer!!
