Ronald Gross Inc. Cabot,Pa.

on a scale of 1-10 i give them a 8. Family based company and they make you feel like one of the family. Good equiptment, not brand new but in very good condition and very well maintained. Unlike a lot of smaller companies,if there is something wrong with your truck and you tell them, most of the time the required maintenence is done right then,on the spot. Big cudo's for the main benifit in working for them, 100% company paid health benifits for yourself and your spouse, which in itself puts about 278 dollars a month back in my pocket. The only downfall for them in my eyes is no 24 hour dispatch. If you dont have a load lined up before 5 and you deliver after that you sit and wait till 7 the next morning but 9 out of 10 times you deliver late they already have something lined up. Good pay, good percentage, plenty of freight, even in these slow times I havent missed a day, guaranteed weekends home and sometimes 2-3 nights a week too if the freight lanes work out.

Unfair NEW
by: Anonymous

I worked for your so called great company for about 3or 4 weeks and they let me go because theu said that they felt it wasn't working iut becayse I needed to take time off of work for a court hearing and they said because I wasn't doimg my logs correctly so instead of offering to train me on how they wanted the logs done they just fire me wow what a great company but of coarse they waited until I finished delivering my last load before they called me into they office and unjustly fired me. So in my eyes Ron gross is not a good company to work for. Sure glad im not there even tho I need the money I will find a job that is worth my time cuz for Damn sure is not gross. But hey thanks for the opportunity to find out how shitty of a company tou are.

Slow It Down NEW
by: Anonymous

A Gross driver was witnessed by approximately 260 people, speeding through a marked 25MPH speed limit zone, when he was confronted by a wall of blue shirt wearing union members and their families.
Shame on you for crossing the picket lines, and shame on you for putting other people at risk.
Not only were there people standing on the picket lines, the school buses were trying to make their way to pick kids up. Hang your head in shame.

Crossing The Lines NEW
by: Anonymous

The drivers of Ronald Gross Inc. from Cabot, PA are crossing picket lines put into place by LOCKED OUT workers at ATI. The ATI corporation locked out all of their hourly employees, in an unlawful bid to force those employees into working in sub-standard and unsafe conditions. Instead of standing with the locked out employees, the Gross drivers continue to cross the picket lines, continuing to put the jobs of the ATI employees in more jeopardy.

Scabs NEW

Any trucking company,Gross, that puts their trucks across a LOCKED OUT picket line has no respect for families at all. How many hard working USW men and women do you think you are hurting? Evidently, you don't care. The word of ignorant trucking companies travels as fast as you can cross that line..

Excellent Company NEW
by: Harry Trussell

I have worked for Ron Gross for about 7 months now and would highly recommend them to any driver. One thing that impresses me still is that I cant find a coworker who has something bad to say about the company. All of us are very happy to work for them and the Gross family really goes above and beyond for their drivers. Barry and th mechanics in the shop are very good. He makes sure the equipment is serviced every 7000 miles and we are currently purchasing new glider kits as well as Brand new trucks. I work probably 50-55 hours a week on average and I take home around 700-800 after taxes and my part of the family medical benefits.(The employees benefits are 100% paid)I pay 50 dollars a week for full benefits for my wife and son. Awesome company, will be here as long as they will have me.

What do you consider good pay? $397 SUCKS! come into the real world.. Unless you live down the street from them. that is no good money BUT definitely a good thing having a mechanic with OCD. I loved the upkeep and the staff was nice but that was about it.

Wife agree's!
by: Jennifer Schnittker

**Ronald Gross**

I totally agree that Gross is a great place for my husband. So far into this trade, he has worked for 3 companies.

1.) Werner
I did not like this place, people where unfriendly, and you were just a number.

2.) Wayne Sell.
I hated him here. I cannot tell you how many times I personally went around with the Head of Saftey. What a joke. He knew that they were pushing my husband to the point of pure exhaustion. When I had enough- I personally contacted the man, he gave me the run around about "Splitting time in birth" on and on. He had no concerns about his men, just how they could "lie and make logs look legal." The pay was horrible, MAY BE (at best) 500.00 a week-gone 5 days a week.

3.) Ronald Gross
Here you are not just a number. You are literally part of their family. Small, and family run, these people care. Not just about the employee's, but also about their families. I am super impressed with their 100% paid medical for driver and spouse. The women in the office are very friendly, and informative (a rarity in todays trucking world) I realize there are companies that my husband could make more money at, but sometimes being just a "number" is not worth it!
