Seeking advice and/or guidance about getting hired

I am a 34 year old male that is desperately trying to change my life around. I have a criminal history that includes 1 felony conviction from 2010. The majority of my record is misdemeanor charges but the felony originated as a Criminal Domestic Violance but was switched to Stalking by telephone after instructed by the judge not to call her and like anyone else that has ever been locked up.

She sent letters and pleaded with me to call her so I did. I was released in 2014 and have a new fiance. We are wanting to drive as a team for a company but I can't get hired.

We have called all the companies that have been posted to work with felons and still no luck. We keep getting the same answers, call back in a time frame ranging from 6 months to 10 years or get your Class A CDL first by going through a school.

What is the point if no company will hire me once I complete the school? I already have my DOT Physical card and am working on getting my permit. My fiance has been hired by a company that I can ride along with her while having my permit but can't drive and this is a dream career for me.

I understand the don't do the crime if you can't do the time theory but once released why is it still held against you if you have already paid for the mistakes that youth are apt to make?

How is an ex-con supposed to obtain gainful employment and be expected to survive in this economy if we can't get a company to give us a second chance to prove that we want nothing more than to improve ourselves from our past and not keep repeating it?

You sound extremely frustrated. You need to take a breath and breathe. Everything works out for a reason. Have faith. Things will work out in the end. It probably won't happen within the time line your expected but it WILL happen if you are persistent.

I don't know what state you're in but I can guarantee you'll find something. We're inn California and my husband's company has hired many people with felonies. I'll pray for you
