THE AGE FACTOR

HI,MY NAME IS DON.I AM AGE 55,NO KIDS OR OBLIGATIONS TO KEEP ME "TIED DOWN". I LOVE TO DRIVE AND HAVE ALWAYS HAD AN INTEREST IN TRUCKING AND TRANSPORTATION. TO THE POINT,AT MY AGE IS IT TOO LATE TO ENTER THE FIELD. P.S. I HAVE NO HEALTH PROBLEMS.

Don, I agree with Jimmy

With the current climate of so many drivers applying and not as much freight as 2 years ago, age may be used in the decision process.

Of course they wouldn't never say that.

For the best chances of getting hired, I am sure they will look close at your physical health and driving record, criminal record and employment record.

If all is good I would say you have a chance of getting hired. If one of those areas is less than stellar it may be a little more challenging.

In which case you will want to do a lot of local networking and asking questions to see if you already know a contact or know someone who knows someone who may hire you in addition to your regular job search.
