What happens if you get a criminal record that is non work related?

What if the owner of the truck gets a criminal record? Is the owner still allowed to take on jobs and get valid drivers without any criminal records to operate his truck while he has a criminal record or does the freight companies not let owners of the trucks let their trucks still continue to work with valid drivers?
