Which cell phone carrier has good coverage for going out west

I am trying to see which cell phone carrier has the best reception going through deserts & mountain areas.

My husband & I have Sprint & gee whiz every time he drives through the desert or mountain passes, we seem to get disconnected all the time.

If there are wives out there that have a different carrier than Sprint & do not get disconnected, please let me know which cell phone carrier you have so I know which carrier to change to.

Also I am new to this.

I want to thank all those that offered their input on this. My husband believes it's not the cell phone carrier but the phones themselves. I have an Apple iPhone by Sprint & my hubby has a Samsung by Sprint. The reason he thinks it's the phones because about 5 years ago when we vacationed in Colorado & we traveled thru a lot of farmland like Indiana, Illinois & Kansas, my Mom would call me when I had the BlackBerry & ask where we were at at the time & my Mom & I never got disconnected!

We've had AT&T for years. The only time we've ever gotten disconnected is when he's driving thru mountains.
I guess it's a matter of preference. My husband does most of the shopping and s very old at it. I trust that that he found the best deal for the money.

is rated the best overall coverage however, they are also the most expensive...dont try to use prepaid Verizon either....pay for the best quality and that is sometimes untrue as well..good luck

I think we might give Verizon a try! I know even my kids are frustrated in the middle of talking to their Father. But I have been driving through the Rockies while on vacation & have talked to my Mother back east using my Sprint & no disconnects! But a car is different from a truck!

I have sprint also, much better than it used to be. I know exactly what you mean though. lol.

A friend of mine has Verizon, he says he hardly ever looses a signal going through the mountains.
