Why do trucking companies ask if I am collecting or have collected unemployment or other benefits before hiring?

They want to know if you have ever been injured, done comp, why you were off work, etc. etc.

They don't want you to do it to them. Some people get jobs just to pull a comp case down the road or collect unemployment or diesability.

Technically, D.B is your own money, but eventually comp gets involved because the State involves them. They dont want to pay out, even though its YOUR money, so the company you work for ends up paying out... and you arent "bringing in"

Make sense?
