I just finished training. My first day solo...First day on the job I hit a rock.

Second day on the job I hit a bank sign.

The "dirty little secret" of the trucking industry is that after 3-"preventables" you will be terminated. This information will be entered into the trucking industry database (known as DAC) which will be used to terminate you AND blackball you from getting hired elsewhere.

I would suggest that you check out other companies BEFORE this happens. Many will hire you with only 2-preventables. Once you have the 3rd, IT IS TOO LATE. I don't think most companies enter their info into DAC until after the 3rd incident.

Had I acted sooner, I would still be employed or at least had opportunity for re-employment in the industry. Please don't take what I said as gospel, but it was my experience and that of others I have spoken with. None of my incidents occurred on the street and roadways. All were minor incidents.

My advice to you--TAKE ACTION NOW. Get on with another company. Your company has no allegiance to you.

For a lot of companies, having 2 incidents so early would get you fired. I can't speak to your company.

It depends on their policy there.
