Will you fail the D.O.T. Physical if you have a hernia?

That's probably a stupid question. But I guess I'm hoping in vein that I could still get hired as a trucker even though I have a hernia.

i took a non d.o.t. physical yesterday and it turns out i have a groin hernia will i get to start work or have to have surgery?

Hernia is Not Necessarily an End All

Hernias have levels of severity. I would consult a doctor to see if he or she thinks the hernia will interfere with your ability to do the job. If your Doctor says it will, talk to him/her about the option of removing it.

If the Doctors says it will not effect you, then chances are, with a doctors affidavit, you will not have an issue getting into trucking.
