Winter driving adventures

(Lenoir NC at the yard about to do that deal)
My winter driving adventures yesterday had to be one of the most interesting and scary days of my driving career.
I only wish I had blank film to record, I didn't but I do have some pictures.
First a truck came across the media and we both stopped just in front of each other on my side of the highway.
Later that night, I sat for 2 hours on top of black mountain because the road was too slick for me with an empty trailer. I tried to go down twice and just slide all over the 3 lanes of traffic jack knifing getting traction and then jackknifing again and again when I finally got full control with a standing ovation from other drivers on the CB behind me, (that was hilarious)
I pull over to the side.
Like an idiot I tried it again when there was no traffic coming with what I though was a better approach and that didn't work either. Same thing happened.
When I got control, I pull over to the side again and sat there until the salt truck came thru a few times.
I then made it down at 20mph without incident.
The highway going West on I-40 was shut down because of a huge (heard some say 12 some said 20) car and truck pile up. i have to go that way this morning, I hope it is open now.
Headed to Oklahoma. I could use a less adventures winter driving trip this time but who knows what will come. That's just life as a trucker.
Who else has had winter fun this year?
P.S. I will put some pictures up later come back to this post for a link to the winter driving adventures page.
Later Hervy,
Time to get trucking.
